Special Announcement:

We each have a calling in life from the Lord. It has been quite an honor to be called to serve the Lord through the years since I began in 1979, and here at Riverwood, where have served as Senior Pastor since 2004. It makes my heart smile that Amy and I have spent a third 01 our lives here, and what a huge honor it has been! This started as quite a surprise, because the title Senior Pastor was not one that I had aspired to. But God is full Of surprises, isn't He! 

With much prayer, reflection, and conversation, I have decided to retire from my role as Senior Pastor of Riverwood Covenant at the end of 2026. 

Riverwood is so special to us. This great place has been our church family, our community, and a place where Amy and I have watched God work in so many remarkable ways. This is one reason we believe the time is right. We have confidence in God! He has given Riverwood gifted leaders, a very great-hearted, unified and capable staff and Board, healthy finances, impactful ministries, and many people who can teach, lead, and serve. I am genuinely excited about Riverwood's future! God has His hand on this church! 

My life verse—3 John 4—says, "l have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. " This is also the heartbeat Of Riverwood. We see people coming to new and deeper ways of walking in the truth of the Lord, which we love so much. 

At this time, Amy and I see the hand of God calling us to new opportunities as we care for our parents, spend more focused time with our children and grandchildren and their activities, and have more time for each other. 

There are other callings that the Lord has also graciously given at this time, including teaching college students and assisting other ministries. We are again gearing up to lead a pastors' conference in Uganda in February. Another is the development of the concepts from Fix My Life, the book I have written about living faithfully in the different areas of our lives. This will be a time of transition rather than an end—a different chapter of ministry, family, and life. 

There will be time in the coming months to reflect, celebrate, tell stories, and probably shed a few tears together. For now, just want you to know how grateful am that we have been able to share together this beautiful ministry dream—Riverwood Covenant Church. 

Thank you for allowing me to be your pastor. What an honor! Thank you for your trust, your prayers, and your faithful, deep care and friendship. Riverwood's story has never been just about one pastor. It is the story of God working every single day through people who live out our key verse—"The only thing that counts is faith, expressing itself in love" (Gal. 5:6). This shows in our families, our church, and in the community as well. God is at work! 

This time together has been so amazing! I'm so grateful to the Lord for the relationships, the miracles, the blessings, the trials, and the life-changing stories that we have all witnessed together "up close and personal." Praise the Lord!! Amy and I love you deeply. 

I look forward to serving through December 31st and walking through these next few months together with gratitude for everything God has done and anticipation for what He will do next.

Senior Pastor, Riverwood Covenant Church 

On behalf of the Riverwood Covenant Church Board, we receive pastor Keith's retirement announcement with deep gratitude for his 22 years of faithful leadership and genuine confidence in the future of our church.

Keith began serving as Riverwood's Senior pastor in 2004. Since then, Riverwood has grown into a strong, outward-looking church committed to helping people connect, grow, and reach our community and world. 

We have watched people come to faith, be baptized, and grow as disciples. Ministries for children, students, and adults are thriving. Under Keith's leadership, Riverwood has also reached far beyond Sunday mornings. RiverWorks began through the faith and action of people from this church. The Thousand Hearts initiative has equipped people to meet practical needs in Jesusi name. Riverwood also supports ministries in Mexico, Uganda and elsewhere around the world.

Pastor Keith's impact has been immense. It can be seen in Riverwood's growth and ministries, and in the people he has taught, encouraged, baptized, married, prayed with, counseled, and walked beside. Many of us can point to a time when he helped us see God more clearly or take a faithful next step. 

By God's provision and through Keith's leadership, Riverwood enters this time of pastoral transition from a position of strength. We have gifted staff and ministry leaders, a committed congregation, healthy finances, capable teachers and speakers, and a renewed facility that will serve ministry for years to come. 

We are also grateful to Amy and the Robinson family for sharing Keith with Riverwood and supporting his ministry. This transition opens welcome time for children, grandchildren, parents, and the ministry opportunities God continues to place before him. 

The Board will lead the next season prayerfully and carefully. We will communicate more to the congregation as plans develop. For now, we invite you to thank Pastor Keith and Amy, pray for them, and celebrate all God has done through their years at Riverwood. We also ask you to pray for our staff, Board, and church family as we prepare for the next chapter together.
